A number of people on my
yorkshirelad journal have dress diaries to post about their various costuming exploits. I don't do much in the way of costuming though. But I did want somewhere that I could post thoughts, experiences, and research on the historical things that interest me.
This journal will mostly cover my experimental archeological experiences. This could be anything from clothing to medieval religion and medieval western martial arts to older languages. In short all the olden time stuff I am interested.
The name Four Boars comes from my SCA heraldry. See my icon. I went with this design when I registered my arms (for the second time) for XXX reasons. First was because the design was simple and you do not see that very often in the SCA. Second was because it looks good on a traditional medieval shield (i.e. heater) and it also looks good on a Viking/Saxon round shield. Thirdly was because the boar is tenacious in fighting. It was also held in high regard in a number of Pre-Christian European religions.
